Senator Aníbal Fernández (Victory Front) came on stage to assured that “I have never said that the insecurity was just a mere sensation”, as he was referring to the murder of two Brothers in Buenos Aires province town of Cañuelas.
“Take a look at the sad faces of the kids of those killed in Cañuelas, and you’ll see that no one can tell this is just a sensation”, Fernández told reporters during a radio interview.
Asked if he has ever said that insecurity was just a sensation created by the media to scare the population, the former cabinet chief said “of course not. One day I just made a stupid mistake which consisted on commenting an article published by La Nación newspaper and based on a survey conducted by the University of Belgrano that referred to “insecurity sensation”, but I have nothing to do with that phrase. It is La Nación who’s been claiming for the past ten years that I said so.”
