Local residents entered the Cañuelas city hall to demand the mayor»s resignation in response to a double-murder case.
Residents in the Buenos Aires province town of Cañuelas broke into the local City Hall while making calls for justice in the case investigating the murder of two brothers who owned a supermarket and were killed in cold blood on Sunday.
The BA province Justice and Security Minister, Ricardo Casal, the BA Police Chief Hugo Matzkin and Cañuelas mayor Marisa Fassi met to discuss the matter as tension outside continued to grow.
Investigators believe that the two brothers may have been killed by an ex convict seeking revenge for being sent to prison six years ago, police sources explained.
Area residents are asking the local government to solve case investigating the homicide of Leonardo (39) and Marcelo Massa (36), and met in the morning with the highest ranking officials in the government and the BA police.
They also called for the mayor to resign.
The double murder was committed on Sunday afternoon in a supermarket located five blocks from the town square.
Two men riding a motorbike broke into the supermarket and began shooting at the brothers.
Marcelo was shot three times and died while he was being assisted by emergency services, and his brother Leonardo was shot in the head and died on the local hospital’s operating room.
Both suspects escaped and have not been found despite several raids conducted by the police.
