Facundo Moyano: ‘We’re making demands, we’re not going against the Gov’t’

Victory Front lawmaker Facundo Moyano, son of union leader Hugo Moyano, ratified that he will continue to be a part of the ruling party’s caucus in the Lower House, and assured that the demonstration staged in Plaza de Mayo “was called in order to present the Government with a demand, not to go against it.”
“There are no rich workers here,” he said as he arrived at the historic square leading the tollbooth workers’ union. “I profoundly disagree with the way the Government has handled this conflict. Néstor Kirchner would have solved this in a different way, now the country is being handled in a different direction,” he added. He clarified, however, that this is “the first massive demonstration, not against the Government but in order to present it with a demand.”
The lawmaker said he believes the administration wants a CGT union confederation “that works like a ministry and that is impossible.”
“They want to move the workers’ movement to the side. They are starting to lose their ability to apply pressure in politics,” he concluded.
Regarding any consequences that his continued demands for raising the income tax floor could bring, he repeated that “he is a Victory Front lawmaker and will continue to be.”
“I will not leave the caucus because my position doesn’t go against anything, you can loyally disagree with someone’s project and that is what I’m doing,” he stated.
