Teamsters’ Union head Pablo Moyano rejected a 21 percent hike offer made by the Logistics Transportation Federation at a meeting at the Labour Ministry held to meet common ground. Likewise, the unionist threatened with more fuel distribution and rubbish collection strikes starting today, and urged the national government to eliminate the tax income.
After the meeting, Moyano reiterated the union’s rejection to a 21 percent raise offered by the Argentina Cargo Transportation Federation (FADEEAC in Spanish) today after last Friday’s 18 percent offer, while the union’s intention is obtaining a 30 percent hike.
On Friday, Moyano had already called “ridiculous” the offer made by the FADEEAC.
Likewise, the son of the CGT Labour Confederation revealed that they could drop their hike demands in case the government eliminates the income tax.
«This governmen’t is unbelievable, they offer football for everybody, motor racing for everybody, but salaries for just a few», an annoyed Moyano told reporters in reference to the income tax floor which is too low according to numerous unions as well to a large portion of the population.
