The AFIP revenue agency announced today that it had filed a cautionary measure against a ruling by Neuquén Judge Carolina Pandolfi authorizing a man to purchase US$125,000 at the official exchange rate.
With the appeal in place, the man, Carlos María Martín, will now have to wait until a court decides on the case to see if he will be allowed to purchase US currency for such amount.
Earlier today, Judge Carolina Pandolfi gave the AFIP two hours to approve the man’s authorization to purchase dollars.
Martín filed the lawsuit against AFIP after he was forbidden to purchase US$125,000 which he assures he needs to pay the mortgage he used to buy a farm in Neuquén province.
