‘We took the most convenient measures to address YPF’s situation,’ CFK

President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner said that she took «the most convenient measures to address YPF’s situation» and assured that the oil company has «an absolutely professional staff, but will continue to be aligned with the country’s interests.»

“The YPF staff is absolutely professional, but that does not mean the company will not be aligned with country’s interests,” she added.

Regarding the newly nationalized company, the Head of State stressed that the Government «will demand efficiency and technology.”

Earlier, YPF CEO Miguel Galuccio introduced the company’s strategic five-year plan, which aims to drill 1,000 oil wells in 2013 in order to achieve energy self-suffiency.
