Foreign tourism drops 5.6% in April

The amount of tourists that arrived in Argentina during April dropped 5.6 percent compared to the same month of 2011 and totalled 221,652 people, according to a government report.

The Indec national statistics bureau stated that the expense of tourists was of 269.7 million dollars, 13.7 percent less against the fourth month in 2011.

Most of the tourists visiting Argentina in April came from Brazil, 68,631 tourists, 8.8 percent less year-on-year.

During this month, 210,415 Argentine citizens travelled abroad, a 31.2 percent higher than the figures reported on April 2011.
