The Criminal Chamber decided to annul the dismissal of 44 Metropolitan Police officials who were involved in the incidents that took place in the Indoamericano Park in December 2010, and accused of causing at least two deaths.
Judicial sources confirmed that a tribunal decided to annul the dismissal and removed judge Eliseo Otero from the case. At the same time, a Judicial Chamber 1 confirmed the dismissal of the accusations against City judge María Cristina Nazar, who ordered the removal of the squatters that had taken over the park in Villa Soldati.
The investigation is currently targeting 33 Metropolitan Police officers and 11 from the Federal Police force. They are all accused of being responsible of the deaths of Paraguayan Bernardo Salgueiro and Bolivian Chura Puña.
They are also being investigation for the grave injuries sustained by Wilson Fernández Prieto, Emanuel Ríos, Miguel Angel Montoya, José Meruvia Guzmán, John Duré Mora and Juan Segundo Araóz.
Back in December 2010, squatters decided to take over the Indoamericano Park in Villa Soldati. In a confrontation with the police, who was sent to remove them from the property by force, three people were killed and many other injured.
