Schoklender arrested

Sergio Schoklender, the former financial manager of Human Rights organization Madres de Plaza de Mayo, was arrested today after he refused to give testimony before Federal Judge Norberto Oyarbide.

Schoklender is accused of having irregularly managed public funds meant for housing plans, money laundering and embezzlement while working for the organization led by Hebe de Bonafini.

Sergio’s younger brother Pablo Schoklender and Alejandro Gotkin, owner of construction company Meldorek, were also arrested accused of being part of an illicit association.
