Juan Martín Del Potro has climbed two positions in the ATP World Rankings moving from 11th to 9th. The new position came after the Argentine player reached the Madrid Masters 1000 semi-finals where he eventually lost against Czech Tomas Berdych.
Del Potro lost 7-6; 7-6 a Madrid’s blue clay against Berdych on Saturday. Now the Argentine will participate in the Rome Masters 1000 in order to collect points that could eventually put him back in the top five, which according to the man from Tandil is his personal goal for the current year.
